The bus is full. Rush hour. Standing,
  crammed to the ends of the bus. One stop
  later, a seat is emptied. I offer it to
  the nice young man in the snazzy suit.
    "No thanks," he says, "I've been sit-
  ting all day."
    "So have I, buddy." I think, and the 
  seat stays empty as we ride out of down-
  town's shadow, and on to artificial 
  green suburbs.
